Computer & Internet Use

Public Access Computers

The Library has 6 public access computer stations that provide free access to the Internet and Microsoft Office 2013 software.  An Early Literacy station is located in the Children’s Library (for children’s use only).  45 minutes of computer access is allowed per patron, per day. Longer sessions can be booked at the discretion of staff.  Only one person may use a computer at a time.

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult to use the computer facilities.  Children aged 12-14 may use the computers unsupervised provided staff have received parental/guardian permission for them to do so. Monitoring of a child’s use of the computers and the Internet is the responsibility of the parent/guardian.

Please note that the public computers are not filtered and the public network is not secure.  All users are expected to use the public computers in accordance with section 5.2.5 of the Pemberton & District Public Library Computer and Internet Use Policy.
